A Morrilton man has been arrested following an investigation by the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

According to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division, 23-year-old Collin Cormier of Morrilton was taken into custody Wednesday after investigators served a search and arrest warrant at a residence in Morrilton.

The warrant was executed by the ASP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit with assistance from the Morrilton Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.

Authorities say the investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip through the Microsoft platform reporting 100 images of child sexual abuse material.

Investigators allege Cormier also engaged in sexually explicit messaging with a juvenile in Texas, including discussions about meeting the child.

Cormier was transported to the Conway County Detention Center, where he was booked on three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of internet stalking of a child.

Officials say multiple electronic devices were seized during the search and will undergo forensic examination as the investigation continues.
