Dress up and dance: mother-son and father-daughter balls return to Mountain Home

Two family-centered events will return to Mountain Home this month, with both taking place earlier in the year than usual.Mountain Home Christian Academy (MHCA) will host “Night With Your Knight,” a mother-son dinner event Friday at The Sheid. Vanessa Peglar works in IT and admissions at the school and has attended the event with multiple children. She says it’s a special night for moms and sons.

Two sessions will be offered that evening. The first, for ages 3 to 9, will run from 5:30 to 7:30, while the second session for ages 10 and up will be from 8 to 10.

The following day, Saturday the academy will host its 13th annual Father-Daughter Ball. Vanessa says this event has been taking place for 13 years.

Three sessions are scheduled beginning Saturday afternoon for the ball: ages 3 to 7 from 2 to 3:30, ages 8 to 11 from 4:30 to 6, and ages 12 and up from 7 to 9.

Vanessa noted that while the events highlight mothers and fathers, participants may also attend with another trusted adult or family member.
