Central Arkansas falls to Queens in ASUN Championship final

Central Arkansas saw its season come to an end Sunday with a 98-93 overtime loss to Queens University of Charlotte in the ASUN Championship Tournament final at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Bears finished the season 22-12 overall and 15-3 in conference play.

Central Arkansas led 34-30 at halftime, but Queens rallied in the second half to take the lead before the Bears battled back late. Camren Hunter hit a three-pointer with 27 seconds remaining and later tied the game with a layup with two seconds left to force overtime.

In the extra period, Queens pulled away with key baskets and free throws to secure the five-point victory.

Hunter delivered a historic performance for Central Arkansas, scoring 49 points to set an ASUN Tournament record, a UCA single-game record and a career high. He also made eight three-pointers and recorded four steals.

Ty Robinson added 16 points with three three-pointers and two blocks, while Javion Guy-King finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Cole McCormick pulled down seven rebounds and added two steals and a block.

Hunter and Robinson were both named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team.
