Several area high school baseball and softball teams were on the field Monday as the early season schedule continued across north central Arkansas.
In baseball, West Side picked up a 13-2 victory over Calico Rock. Mountain View also secured a convincing win, defeating Bergman 14-4.
Harrison earned a 7-2 win over Batesville, while Valley Springs came away with a narrow 3-2 victory against Cave City in one of the day’s closest contests.
In softball action, Cotter posted an 8-1 win over Mountain View.
