
The Mountain Home Bomber baseball team opened up 5A-West conference action in a big way on Tuesday night. The Bombers vanquished the Goblins 13-1 in their conference opener. The night began with the Bombers hanging a 5 on the scoreboard in the 1st inning to take a 5-0 lead over the Goblins. Harrison would respond back with a run of their own in the 2nd inning to cut the lead down to 5-1. But the game would be broken wide open in the 3rd inning as Jackson Corp hit a 3 run bomb to break things open 8-1. Mountain Home would tack on 5 more runs in the 7th to cap off the 13-1 victory.
Drew Haney led the way, picking up the victory, throwing 4 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, and striking out 9 hitters.
Jackson Corp paced Mountain Home’s offense going 3-4 with a home run. Jax Wescoat went 2-4 as well.
Mountain Home improves to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the 5A-west.
In other action in the 5A-west, Farmington defeated Siloam Springs 4-0, Van Buren ran by Greenwood 5-1, and Alma vs Russellville was postponed to Thursday due to weather.
