
Area high school baseball and softball teams were in action Friday across north central Arkansas, with Lead Hill, Norfork and Flippin picking up wins.On the baseball field, Lead Hill turned in the areas top performance, shutting out Omaha 10-0. The Tigers kept Omaha off the scoreboard while generating enough offense to secure the run-rule victory.
Several other Twin Lakes teams came up short Friday. Flippin fell to Highland 15-2, while Yellville-Summit dropped a 12-2 decision to Greenland. Viola was blanked by West Side 16-0, and Salem lost to Valley Springs 11-1. Norfork was defeated by Jasper 13-4, and Harrison fell to Greenwood 8-3 in larger-school action.
On the softball field, Norfork recorded a dominant 14-0 shutout win over Jasper. Flippin also picked up a decisive victory, rolling past Omaha 15-0.
