The Mountain Home Bomber Baseball team looked to build off their 1-0 start in the 5A-west on Friday against Russellville. Russellville would strike first and take a 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning with a 2 run double from Lukas Stokes.

Mountain Home would respond with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to 2-1. Mountain Home would find themselves down 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 5th inning. However, Mountain Home would manufacture 3 runs, on the heels of 2 walks and an error from Russellville, to trim the lead to 5-4. The bats would come alive in the bottom of the 6th inning as the Bombers would score 5 runs, thanks to a pair of two-run base hits from Jax Wescoat and Koen Bickford, to give the Bombers the lead 9-5.

Russellville would not go down without a fight as they would plate 2 more runs in the 7th inning to cut the lead to 9-7 but would get no closer as the Bombers would close out the 9-7 victory on Friday evening.

Drew Haney would pick up the victory for Mountain Home, his second of the week. Additionally, Haney would reach base twice.

Mountain Home improves to 2-1 on the campaign, and 2-0 in 5A-west play.
