It was a busy Tuesday across the area, with several teams turning in strong performances in both baseball and softball action.

In baseball, Salem picked up a 13-5 win over Cave City, while Norfork came up just short in a 6-5 loss to Sloan-Hendrix.

Cotter handed Jasper its first loss of the season with a 13-6 victory, improving to 7-1 on the year.

Marshall rolled past Shirley 13-1, Viola dominated Omaha 18-1, and Flippin shut out Bergman 14-0.

Melbourne fell on the road to Pangburn, 10-1.

On the softball side, Valley Springs powered past Jasper 27-4, and Calico Rock topped Cedar Ridge 5-1.

Norfork shut out Izard County 5-0, while Yellville-Summit continued its strong start with a 16-0 win over Ozark Mountain.

Flippin picked up a pair of wins over Bergman in a doubleheader, 15-0 and 26-5.

Salem was blanked by Cave City 4-0, and Marshall fell to Tuckerman 18-0.

Farmington also posted a dominant 20-0 win over Harrison.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, Salem will take on Mountain View in both baseball and softball, while Bergman travels to Cave City for softball.
