State and federal authorities seized thousands of illegal and non-compliant vape and tobacco products during a recent enforcement operation across Arkansas.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Little Rock District Office to remove 7,636 items from retailers during inspections conducted March 5 through March 17.
Regulatory agents visited 28 vape and tobacco stores across central Arkansas, northwest Arkansas and the Hot Springs area as part of the operation.
Items seized included more than 5,600 illicit vape devices, over 1,200 non-compliant e-liquid products and hundreds of THC-related items, including Delta-8 and Delta-9 vape devices and edibles. Agents also confiscated approximately three pounds of suspected marijuana or hemp flower and more than 400 untaxed tobacco products.
“We were proud to partner with the DEA on this effort to protect Arkansans from dangerous, unregulated products,” said Regulatory Enforcement Director David Potter. “We will not allow a handful of rogue actors to endanger the public.”
Officials say criminal charges related to controlled substances are pending.
DEA officials also praised the effort, calling the operation a significant step in removing illegal products and improving public safety across the state.
