A 25-year-old Jonesboro man is accused of threatening to kill a woman after she began dating another person, according to a probable-cause affidavit.

Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Wednesday to charge Shatreon Taequan Dorsey with first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony; aggravated residential burglary, a Class Y felony; harassment/surveillance at one’s home, a Class A misdemeanor; and third-degree assault, a Class C misdemeanor.

On March 23, Jonesboro police responded to a disturbance in the 2500 block of East Johnson Avenue, according to the affidavit.

The victim told officers Dorsey entered her apartment and was upset because she had begun dating another person. The victim said she was concerned Dorsey was surveying the apartment while armed.

While on scene, officers reported Dorsey called the victim multiple times and threatened to kill both victims.

“Shortly after Dorsey was located near the apartment in a vehicle,” the affidavit states. “A search of Dorsey’s vehicle revealed there was a hammer, hatchet and a black face mask inside of it.”

A second victim told police Dorsey had been “blowing up” the victim’s phone with notifications.

“When Dorsey showed up to the apartment he was insinuating through his actions and words he was armed,” the affidavit states. “The victim advised Dorsey looked manic and angry. The victim was shaken up and had an apprehension of imminent physical injury while Dorsey was unlawfully inside the residence.”

Police arrested Dorsey. Fowler set his bond at $250,000 cash or surety and ordered no contact with the victim, the use of a GPS ankle monitor, and no possession of weapons.

Dorsey is scheduled to be arraigned May 18.
