
The St. Louis Cardinals return to Busch Stadium Saturday looking to carry momentum from one of the wildest opening day comebacks in club history into game two of their weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays.St. Louis rallied from a 7-1 deficit Thursday, erupting for eight runs in the sixth inning to secure a 9-7 victory. The inning featured contributions throughout the lineup, highlighted by a go-ahead two-run home run from Alec Burleson and additional production from rookie JJ Wetherholt and Ivan Herrera.
Saturdays pitching matchup features right-hander Joe Boyle taking the ball for Tampa Bay against Cardinals right-hander Michael McGreevy. Boyle enters after posting a 3.52 ERA last season, while McGreevy went 8-4 with a 4.42 ERA, giving St. Louis a young arm opportunity to stabilize the series.
