A 56-year-old man with an extensive criminal history, Rory Gregory of Mountain Home, is en route to the Arkansas Department of Correction after waiving his parole violation hearing Monday, according to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery. Gregory was given 10 months to serve on his original charges stemming from an incident in 2014.

Last week Gregory made his first court appearance and entered a not guilty plea on a large number of charges stemming from a August 18 incident in which he led a chase through a wide swath of the city, winding up when he drove his vehicle through the entrance to the Baxter Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.

At the time of the incident, Gregory was on active parole. He was given a 15-year prison sentence in 2014 after pleading guilty to resisting arrest, theft of property, fleeing and second-degree battery. The Arkansas Parole Board released him from the state prison system in April after he served about 30 months of his 15-year sentence.
