
Folks began gathering Saturday morning for Bridge Bash, the signature fund raising event of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas and their 75 hunger relief agencies. Registration for the Warriors for Hope color run started at 7 this morning and the race begins at 8. Registration for the kayak race from Bull Shoals dam begins at 8 with the race down the White River to Cotter kicking off at 9.
At 10 the Stand Up For Hope ceremony officially begins Bridge Bash. Participants may register at the event prior to the ceremony for a $20 donation to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Those unable to attend can participate virtually and Sleep in For Hope. Registration can be done online for a $20 donation at at the food bank website, http://www.foodbanknca.org
Every dollar donated will go directly to hunger relief, according to Food Bank of North Central Arkansas CEO Quick, who says this year's Bridge Bash goal is to raise $100,000.

Registration for the Bridge Bash Car, Truck and Bike Show begins at 9 in the morning at the park with the show starting at 10. The cost to enter a vehicle in the show is $10 or ten cans of nonperishable food items.
Duck races will be held every half hour beginning at noon until all ducks have raced.
A full day of activities for adults and children is planned with a dog show at 11 a.m.; vendor and craft booths; a live and silent auction, starting at noon, featuring everything from vacations to restaurant certificates; a Kids Korner with numerous children's activities and food vendors to satisfy appetites from barbecue to deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
A major Bridge Bash event is meal packaging.

Through generous donations from local businesses and individuals who sponsor Bridge Bash, all of the money raised at the event will go directly to the 75 hunger relief organizations of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, says Quick. These agencies, including food pantries, shelters, weekend meals programs for school children and soup kitchens serve over 200,000 people in the food bank's nine county service area of Baxter, Boone, Fulton, Izard, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp and Stone counties.
