Details have been released on a second person arrested and charged in connection with a reported burglary of a Marion County residence in which two small children were present.
According to the arrest affidavit filed Wednesday afternoon, 27-year-old Myka Michelle Moore of Flippin was charged with felony counts of residential burglary, theft of property and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The affidavit notes the break in and theft occurred at a home along Marion County Road 7021 and was reported to law enforcement on September 9.
The victims told Marion County Sheriff’s officers when they returned home after a walk, they saw a van parked in their driveway. They then saw a woman leave the residence, get in the vehicle and speed away. The victims advised the vehicle was occupied by a woman, man and a blonde headed child. They were able to write down the license plate number and provide it to law enforcement.
When the victims entered the residence, they noticed several items missing including a rifle, a brass knuckle belt buckle, several knives and two jewelry boxes with jewelry.
An alert was issued for the van, and it was located and stopped later that afternoon by a State Park Ranger near the Bull Shoals-White River State Park near Lakeview. The vehicle was occupied by 37-year-old William Cobb of Mountain Home, Moore, and two small children, one being blonde. The van contained several of the items reported missing from the Marion County residence. Also found were a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
In late September, an affidavit identified Cobb in connection with the burglary.
According to the affidavit, Cobb admitted going to the residence and taking the items. He claims the house belonged to his deceased grandparents. He said his family was going to sell the home, and he would not get anything from it, so he went to get something for himself. He told officers he and Moore, along with the two children, were in Flippin checking on Moore’s apartment and decided to drive by the Marion County home. When they arrived, they found the door unlocked, entered the home and took the items.
Cobb faces similar charges in connection with the burglary. Bonds for Moore and Cobb were set at $10,000 each.
