MH to be represented in Overall State Tennis Tournament

Football, volleyball, tennis and basketball make up the local schedule.

A few area high school athletes will be in North Little Rock to begin action in the Overall State Tennis Tournament at Burns Park.
The girls’ divisions will have three students from Mountain Home. Emily Heide will have a first round bye in the singles bracket, and her first match will be at 2 p.m. against either Katelyn Miller of Highland or Vanessa Salinas of Haas Hall-Fayetteville. Sydney Czanstkowski and Megan Beck will represent the Lady Bombers in the doubles bracket against Hampton’s Maddison Jones and Shelby Belin at 11:00.
On the boys’ side, Jonathan Hargrave of Valley Springs will compete in singles play as he meets Seth Hernandez of Baptist Prep at 11:00.

Three local high school volleyball teams will be in Hoxie for the start of the Class 3A State Tournament. Cotter faces Harding Academy at 2:00, Flippin takes on Mayflower at 4:00, and Valley Springs plays Episcopal Collegiate.

Football will be played at Bomber Stadium on Monday. Mountain Home’s eighth graders will play a Blue-Gold Scrimmage at 6:00, and the high school junior varsity team will follow against Batesville.

In junior high basketball, Rural Special travels to Guy-Perkins.
