Jerrod Sisk of Briarcliff, who is charged with a number of drug-related offenses in addition to theft of property, appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered a not guilty plea.
In the probable cause affidavit, the details of a number of transactions between Sisk and a confidential informant were laid out in which money and drugs changed hands. The confidential informant allegedly purchased methamphetamine from Sisk on several dates last month with law officers monitoring and recording the conversation between the two.
In a somewhat unusual turn for a drug buy case, Sisk agreed to provide drugs to the confidential informant on September 23rd, accepted $450 to pay for the methamphetamine, but instead of providing the drugs, took the money and ran.
Sisk is also charged with the unlawful use of a communications device in that a cell phone was used to arrange the logistics of the various drug buys.
The Sisk case was investigated by officers with the Mountain Home Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Arkansas State Police.
Sisk, who was arrested October 4th, is currently being held in the Baxter County jail with bond set at slightly more than $75,000. He was ordered by Judge John Putman to reappear October 20th. Judge Putman said Sisk should have arrangements made by that time for legal representation.
