
The Arkansas Department of Education has released its Arkansas School Performance Reports to highlight student academic achievement and growth, graduation rate, school quality and student success for the state’s public schools for the 2016-2017 school year. The department gave each school in every public district a letter grade based on school index scores from the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
For Mountain Home, Pinkston Middle School had the highest growth for 2016-2017 as it went to an A grade from a C grade the prior year. Mountain Home Kindergarten, Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary, Mountain Home Junior High and Mountain Home High School Career Academies all ended up with B ratings, and Hackler Intermediate School had a C grade.
Elsewhere in Baxter County, Norfork High School received an A rating, and Arrie Goforth Elementary School was given a B. Both schools in the Cotter School District were given a B rating.
In Marion County, all three schools at Flippin received a C grade. Both of Yellville-Summit’s schools ended up with a B.
For the Ozark Mountain School District, St. Joe High School’s B was the highest grade for the district. Bruno-Pyatt Elementary and High School and St. Joe Elementary School all had C ratings, and both schools on the Western Grove campus ended up with a D.
In Fulton County, Viola Elementary School scored an A rating, and Viola High School received a B. Both schools in the Salem district were awarded A grades, and both of Mammoth Spring’s schools were given B ratings.
The Melbourne School District had the highest success in Izard County as both campuses finished with A grades. Both schools in Calico Rock were given C grades, and all three campuses for the Izard County School District ended up with B ratings.
The Searcy County School District had three different grades. Marshall High School was awarded an A, Marshall Elementary School received a B, and Leslie Intermediate School was given a C.
In Stone County, five different schools in the Mountain View district ended up with A grades. Timbo Elementary and High School, Mountain View Elementary and Middle School, and Rural Special High School were awarded the highest rating. Mountain View High School and Rural Special Elementary School finished with B grades.
In Boone County, Lead Hill Elementary School was given a B, and Lead Hill High School ended up with a C. At Bergman, the middle school was awarded an A, and the elementary and high schools received B ratings. All three schools at Valley Springs were awarded A grades. At Harrison, A ratings were awarded to Eagle Heights Elementary, Forest Heights Elementary, Skyline Heights Elementary and Harrison Middle School, and B grades were given to Woodland Heights Elementary, Harrison Junior High and Harrison High School. Both schools at Omaha ended up with B ratings.
In Newton County, both schools at Jasper finished with a C grade.
