A resolution recognizing the opioid epidemic in the U.S. and Arkansas returns to the Mountain Home City Council agenda Thursday evening for the third time. The council will meet in regular session at 6:00.

The resolution calls for the City of Mountain Home to engage in litigation as a member of the Municipal Legal Defense Program against those entities and people responsible for this societal crisis. In January and February, the council considered the resolution to enter the city into the class action lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies pushing certain opioid medications without taking action. In both meetings, the resolution was tabled.

In other business, the council will request a variance regarding an above ground fuel storage tank at the new Air Evac Lifeteam site on Hospital Drive.

A zoning ordinance amendment will also be considered relative to changing an area from Residential R-1 and Residential R-5 to Residential R-3.

The council will also considered an equalization board resolution and an interlocal funding agreement between the general fund and the street department.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers of the Municipal Building.
