A Baxter County man is in the Marion County Detention Center accused of illegally entering multiple residences. According to affidavits, 27-year-old Robert Kendall of Mountain Home is charged with felony counts of theft of property and residential burglary and misdemeanor counts of first-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespass. He is being held without bond.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call June 5th from a resident of Marion County Road 7033 stating there was a man on an ATV behind her turkey barn, and she pursued the suspect as he fled. The suspect had reportedly fled by the time deputies arrived.
While at the location, the deputies were advised of another house on the same road being entered. The deputies arrived at the house, actually located on White River Landing in Flippin, and the resident stated an ATV drove up to his house two days earlier but fled once the light was turned on. The resident also said he left for his place of employment June 5th, and when he returned, his house was burglarized. A rifle and a beer were reportedly in the grass on the south side of the residence, another rifle originally from in the house was on the east side, and a belt buckle from inside the house was found under the carport. The resident stated he commonly left the back door unlocked.
Deputies went inside the residence and reportedly located the living room television turned over and several items tossed about. An empty gun case was located in one of the bedrooms, and a semi-automatic shotgun was laying in the floor. The resident stated there was a camouflage 12-gauge shotgun missing from the house. A neighbor stated she witnessed a dark topless Jeep and an ATV at the residence earlier in the day.
Later that evening, a woman called saying she was holding an unwanted male subject at gunpoint at her residence on Cox Crossing near Flippin. When deputies arrived, they found the subject, identified as Kendall, lying face down on the porch of the residence. Kendall was allegedly found to have several rounds of ammunition on his person, and he reportedly admitted to taking a shotgun from a hunting cabin he had broken into.
