A Flippin man, 30-year-old Jeremy Jones, has been arrested and charged with a felony count of terroristic threatening after he allegedly pulled a gun on one of two women fighting over cats.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched last October to a residence along County Road 6065 regarding a physical altercation.
At the residence a woman told the officer she had returned home with some sugar for her female roommate. The woman told the officer she and her roommate had then argued over the other woman’s cats. Their verbal argument turned physical.
At this point, the woman’s boyfriend, Jones, entered the area of the house where the two were fighting. Jones is alleged to have hit the roommate in the face, pushing her back, causing her to fall into a table and a lamp. He then reportedly grabbed her by the throat, before getting a .22 rifle and pointing it at her face, while threatening to kill her.
In a report obtained from the roommate in a separate interview, she told law enforcement after being threatened with the weapon, she reached for a wall phone and discovered it had been unplugged. She was able to leave the house, went to her vehicle and drove away.
Jones was arrested Tuesday. In addition to the felony count, he faces misdemeanor charges of battery and interference with emergency communications.
His bond was set at $5,000.
