The Arkansas School Safety Commission released its preliminary report Thursday. While the report is just the first phase of the project, Mountain Home Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says Mountain Home schools are already ahead of the curve with what the commission is recommending.
The report says every school campus in the state should have some type of armed security when children and staff members are present, something Long says Mountain Home has already prepared for.

The commission did say the decision on using armed security should be left up to each individual school district, something Long says he wholeheartedly agrees with.
