Diamonds win 1st 2 pool games in Babe Ruth Softball World Series

Mountain Home began pool play in the Babe Ruth Softball 14-and-under World Series with two victories Saturday on the Treasure Coast of Florida.

The Diamonds ended up invoking the mercy rule in the fifth inning of their first game. Mountain Home dominated Pimlico, North Carolina, by a final of 19-1.

The Diamonds stayed on the field for their second game and topped Madeira Beach, Florida, 4-1. Kaylee Crownover was credited with the victory as she pitched a complete game, struck out six batters and gave up one hit and two walks.

Mountain Home will be back on the field Saturday evening at 5:00 to face JPRD West Bank, Louisiana.
