
The Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series wrapped up division play Monday in Mountain Home, and the host team’s goal of getting a top seed in the bracket came up short. Mountain Home exploded for four runs in the last inning, but they couldn’t get over the hump as they fell to Broomall-Newtown, Pennsylvania, 8-5.
Christopher Lindenmeyer suffered the loss as he pitched 5 2/3 innings, struck out four batters and gave up five hits, one walk and three earned runs. Offensively for Mountain Home, Cody Lance had two hits and an RBI; Isaac House provided two hits, stole two bases and scored a run; and Masen Walker added a a triple, a walk, two runs and two RBIs.
Mountain Home wraps up the American Division at 2-2. Broomall-Newtown ends up 3-1.
In Monday’s earlier games, Greenville, North Carolina, shut out Five Cities, California, 2-0, Eagle Pass, Texas, defeated West Linn, Oregon, 13-2, and Greater Portland, Maine, blanked Bemidji, Minnesota, 5-0.
