Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesIt’s been staged in Sweden since 2016, but now thanks to ABBA‘s Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! The Party — a live dinner theater experience inspired by the hit musical — is coming to London.
Mamma Mia! The Party will take place in London’s O2 arena, which will be decorated to resemble a giant taverna on the Greek island of Skopelos, where the most of the first Mamma Mia! movie was filmed. As guests enjoy Mediterranean food and drinks, actors and musicians will perform ABBA songs for them.
Tickets for the four-hour party go on sale this fall via MammaMiaTheParty.com, and the actual event will take place this spring. The Swedish version of the event has been a massive success, with sell-outs since it began.
In a note on the website, Björn writes, “Whatever the weather outside, it’s always a beautiful, warm summer evening inside the Nikos Taverna…So do join us for an ouzo or two, I’d love to see you here!”
