COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Boone Hospital Center and BJC Healthcare will end their
current lease agreement when it expires at the end of 2020.
The mutual decision means the Columbia hospital will continue its search for a
new manager. BJC Healthcare has managed the county-owned hospital for 30 years.
The Columbia Missourian reports trustees said Tuesday the agreement was mutual
because the organization’s mutual needs no longer align.
The hospital issues a request for management proposals in 2016. The trustees
entered into exclusive negotiations with MU HealthCare but ended those
negotiations in January.
Since then, Boone has hired the investment banking firm H2C to assist with
negotiations and to assess the value of the hospital and its assets.
