A local standout athlete will be continuing his career on the collegiate level. Mountain Home Christian Academy’s Matt Woods signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to join the men’s basketball team at Williams Baptist University in Walnut Ridge.
Woods says going on to play at the next level has always been a dream of his, and Williams Baptist gave him the best opportunity.

Woods is a home school student who has played for the Eagles for the past five years. This season, he helped lead Mountain Home Christian to a 25-10 record, and the team was undefeated at home and in the Ozark Area Christian School Conference. Woods was named the conference’s most valuable player and selected to the conference All-Tournament first team.
Woods gives much of the credit to his success to Mountain Home Christian head coach John Bingham.
