A longtime furniture plant in Harrison announced Wednesday it will be closing Aug. 20.

In a letter to KYTV, representatives with Flexsteel say the closing will impact all of the 109 workers. The employees are not represented by a union.

Flexsteel began making furniture in 1929. The company produces a wide variety of upholstered and wood furniture, such as sofas, loveseats, chairs, reclining and rocker-reclining chairs, swivel rockers, sofa beds, convertible bedding units, occasional tables, desks, dining tables and chairs and bedroom furniture.

The plant is located off U.S. Highway 65.

Flexsteel presented a restructuring plan Tuesday.
