Authorities are saying there's a possible connection between a pair of robberies that occurred on both sides of the Arkansas-Missouri line. According to the Harrison Daily Times, Little Caesar's in Harrison was robbed at gunpoint Thursday evening, and a Subway in Hollister was hit nearly a half hour later.
Harrison Police Chief Paul Woodruff says four black male subjects entered Little Caesar's around 9:45 Thursday evening, and each was armed with a handgun wearing hooded sweatshirts with scarves or bandanas over their faces. The suspects ordered everyone in the store to the floor, forced the manager to open the cash register and safe and left with an undisclosed amount of money. It was reported they left in a white utility van with a dent in the passenger door, and they left the area at a high rate of speed. Chief Woodruff says one suspect was in a black hoodie, one in orange, another in camouflage and the fourth suspect in either grey or white. The Harrison police chief adds multiple witnesses in Little Caesar's were interviewed, and their stories were similar to the store's surveillance video.
Later that evening at 10:20, the Hollister Police Department says three black male suspects entered the Subway near Lowe's on Highway 65 North in Hollister. Two employees were ordered to remove cash from the registers and safe, and the suspects then fled in a white SUV-type vehicle. Two suspects were wearing black hoodies and estimated to be in the age range of 19 to 21. One had a black and white bandana over his face, and the other's bandana was white. The third suspect was in a camouflage hoodie, and it was believed his age was either 15 or 16. Investigators believe a fourth black male subject was driving the getaway vehicle. Hollister Police also report surveillance video from nearby businesses indicate the vehicle had tinted windows, a sun roof and black wheels.
