Arkansas State University has released the list of students who were awarded diplomas on the undergraduate and graduate levels during the 2016 fall commencement ceremony in December.
Dr. Lynita Cooksey, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research, conferred the degrees to graduates representing six colleges: Agriculture, Engineering and Technology; Business; Education and Behavioral Science; Liberal Arts and Communication; Nursing and Health Professions; and Sciences and Mathematics.
There were several graduates from the Twin Lakes Area who graduated with honors.
Magna Cum Laude graduates have a grade point average of 3.8 to 3.9. Mountain Home residents Melissa Ann Tabor and Laurie A. Thomas both qualified for Magna Cum Laude recognition. Tabor recieved her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Thomas, received her Bachelor of Science, Technology degree. Bailey Lynn Grissum of Yellville also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Animal Science. In Mountain View Gregory Luke Willis recieved his Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and graduated Magna Cum Laude as well.
Cum Laude grade point averages are in the 3.5 to 3.7 range. Shyanne E. Villalvazo from Gassville received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and falls into this category.
