A Marion County man, 48-year-old David Gibson of Flippin, has been arrested and charged on drug and weapons-related charges after Mountain Home Police officers reportedly found him asleep inside his parked vehicle in a lot in the 100 block of North College Street Saturday morning.According to the probable cause affidavit, Gibson told police he was waiting on his girlfriend.
A glass pipe commonly used to ingest methamphetamine was allegedly observed in plain view on the vehicle’s center console.
During a search of Gibson’s vehicle, 1.1 grams of a white crystalline substance field testing positive for meth was reportedly found next to the pipe. An unloaded Remington model .22 firearm was located behind the driver’s seat.
Gibson allegedly told officers the crystalline substance was meth, and he was transporting the firearm, but it did not belong to him.
It was discovered the Marion County man was a convicted felon from a case in 2007 of internet stalking of a child.
Gibson was charged with two felony drug offenses, as well a simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of firearms by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon.
Online jail records indicate he bonded out of the Baxter County Detention Center after posting a $15,000 bond approximately 30 minutes after his booking.
