Unemployment numbers still low in Twin Lakes Area

Unemployment numbers are still low for most of the Twin Lakes Area, according to the latest data from the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services and the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center. The November unemployment figures show Ozark County has the highest rate in the area at 5.6%, which is the second highest in the state of Missouri.

The lowest rate in the area is 3% in both Boone and Newton counties.

In Baxter County, the unemployment rate is 3.4% with 560 unemployed out of a workforce of 16,350.

Marion County’s unemployment rate is 3.7%, Fulton County is at 3.3%, Izard County stands at 4.5%, unemployment in Stone County is 3.9%, and Searcy County is 4.3%.

In Missouri, Howell County is at 4.2%, Douglas County stands at 4.6%,and Taney County is at 3.3%.

The lowest rate in Arkansas is 2.2% in Washington County in the northwest corner of the state, while the highest is Jackson County, where Newport is the largest city, at 6%.

The state unemployment rate in Arkansas is 3.6%, while Missouri stands at 3%. Nationally, the unemployment rate stands at 3.5%.
