
It was feared the large amount of rain expected from Tropical Depression Cristobal when it moved over Arkansas and Missouri would prompt the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to release record amounts of water from the area dams, but that is not the case. The Corps had warned some entities along the White River on Sunday about possible large releases from both Bull Shoals and Norfork dams.
Jay Townsend is the Public Affairs officer for the Little Rock District of the Corps of Engineers and says the plan for the expected rainfall from Cristobal worked as agency officials had hoped.
