Monday is the final day of early voting for a pair of proposed sales taxes to provide a new community/aquatics center and complete refurbishment to the Mountain Home city park system.Early votes may be cast from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Baxter County Courthouse. Registered voters residing in Mountain Home are eligible to cast a ballot in the special election.
The vote is for a half-cent sales tax to finance construction bonds and a quarter-cent tax for operations of the new community center. The half-cent tax would sunset when bonds are paid off, estimated at 16 to 17 years, while the operating tax would be permanent.
