Power restored to more area residents; more work continues

More area residents have had power restored Saturday afternoon, but work continues to lessen the remainder of the outages. At 4:45 p.m., nearly 1,800 cooperative members and Entergy customers remain without power.

For North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, the largest remaining outage affects 157 members in the Elizabeth area as a four-man crew was replacing a broken pole. Ten broken poles have been located in the Mountain Home district, and at the last update, six still needed replacing. In the Salem district, six broken poles were found, and four still needed to be replaced.

At 4:45, the cooperative had 296 members served by the Mountain Home office and 521 for the Salem office without power. Restoration efforts continue, but NAEC estimates some members will not have power until Sunday morning.

Several Entergy Arkansas customers are still without power. At 4:45, Entergy reported 11 outages in Baxter County, 128 in Marion County, 122 in Izard County, 292 in Stone County and three in Boone County.

Nearly 400 area members of White River Valley Electric Cooperative remain without power. At 4:45, the cooperative reported 381 outages in Ozark County and 10 each in Douglas and Taney counties.
