An area man was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital following a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening. Forty-seven-year-old Eric D. McClurg of Marshall was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of what was termed moderate injuries by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The report indicates McClurg was traveling too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate a turn. His motorcycle began to skid, fell onto its side, skidded off the roadway and hit a guardrail.
The crash happened at Meramec State Park, just east of Sullivan, Mo. at 5:38 Tuesday evening.
