
There is high school tennis scheduled for Monday, as state tournaments get underway throughout Arkansas.
Six Mountain Home athletes will be at the Hot Springs Country Club for the Class 5A State Tournament. On the boys’ side, Dodge Harris will meet Joe Patton of Jonesboro in singles action, and Alex Arp and Jacob Czanstkowski will be paired with Nettleton’s Will Jenson and Cameron Salo on the doubles bracket. For the Lady Bombers, Maci Heide faces Haley Tancinco of Searcy in singles action, and Micaela McLean and Cambelle Lance take on Courtney Mayberry and Natalie Szeflinski of Sheridan in doubles play.
A girl from Viola will be at the Fairfield Bay Tennis Center to take part in the singles division of the Class 2A State Tournament. Aubrey May will go up against Jaycee Davis of East Poinsett County.
Bergman will send three doubles teams to North Little Rock for the Class 3A State Tournament at Burns Park. On the boys’ side, Walker Patten and Braydon Oleson’s opening opponents will be Sha’maurian Lindsey and Heath Wilburn of Lake Village Lakeside. For the Lady Panthers, Maddie Holt and Ruby Trammell will meet Whitley Bolen and Katze Hampton of Corning, and Abby Hodges and Kiesten Lowry face Bismarck’s Alvia Gordon and Audrey Kizziar.
Harrison will be represented by eight athletes in the Class 4A State Tournament at the Rebsamen Tennis Center in Little Rock. On the boys’ singles bracket, Wrennen Davidson takes on Andrew Lydon of Fountain Lake, and Will Mahoney will be matched up with Thomas Franco of Hamburg. Grayson and Andrus Dupre will play in the boys’ doubles division against Matt Hibbard and Alberto Pioquinto of Nashville. In girls’ singles play, Maelle Barthelemy meets Pulaski Academy’s Joiner Love, and Elise Bell faces Kaylee Berry of Valley View. Camryn Casey and Abby Borland are paired on the girls’ doubles bracket with Kadence Gibson and Laynie Smith of Star City.
