Tuesday basketball schedule includes Cotter, Norfork girls playing for regional titles

High school basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule, with regional tournaments ending in Arkansas.

The Class 2A West Regional Tournament will conclude at Eureka Springs. In the third-place games, the girls’ contest between Flippin and Yellville-Summit tips off at 4, and Cotter’s boys meet Acorn at 5:30. The Cotter girls face Mansfield for the championship at 7.

The Class 1A Region 2 Tournament will come to an end at Hillcrest Elementary School in Lynn. In the third-place round, Rural Special’s girls take on Greers Ferry West Side at 4, and the Izard County boys play West Side at 5:30. In the title games, Norfork’s girls will be paired with Mammoth Spring at 7, and the Calico Rock boys go up against Marked Tree at 8:30.

The Class 1A Region 1 Tournament will wrap up at County Line High School in Branch. In the third-place games, Jasper’s girls meet the host Lady Indians at 4, and the Western Grove boys face Ozark Catholic at 5:30. Western Grove’s girls take on Kingston for the championship at 7.

The Class 2A Central Regional Tournament will conclude at White County Central High School in Providence. In the third-place round, the Salem girls play Quitman at 4, and Melbourne’s boys will be matched up with Marshall at 5:30. The Melbourne girls meet Bigelow for the title at 7.

Mountain View’s girls will compete for third place in the Class 3A Region 2 Tournament at Rose Bud. The Lady Yellowjackets meet Hoxie at 4.

Three other area girls’ teams will be in action as district play continue for Missouri’s larger schools.

After having a first-round bye, West Plains will play its opener in the Class 5, District 5 Tournament at Marshfield. The top-seeded Lady Zizzers face the host Lady Jays in the semifinals at 6.

Two area schools will square off in the semifinals of the Class 4, District 11 Tournament at Mountain Grove. Hollister takes on top-seeded Ava at 6.
