The Arkansas Game and Fish commission will host a beginner prescribed fire class Tuesday evening at 5.
The event is an introduction to prescribed fire to educate landowners on the safe and effective use of fire as a land management tool.
Topics covered include fire ecology, using fire to maintain wildlife habitat, writing a prescribed burn plan, liability, personal protective equipment and tools.
Safety while using fire will be a top priority.
Owners of property larger than 40 acres interested in using fire as a management tool to support wildlife habitats are encouraged to attend.

The event will take place at the Stone County Fairgrounds.
