Godwin becomes MH junior boys’ head basketball coach

The Mountain Home School Board announced new leadership for one of its athletic programs at its recent meeting. Mammoth Spring boys’ basketball coach Seth Godwin will become the new head coach for Mountain Home’s junior high boys.

Godwin says he was excited to learn he got hired on Thursday.

Godwin is a Mammoth Spring High School graduate from 2009. He returned to lead the Bears after college and has been there for the last eight years. Godwin says as much as he’s looking forward to transitioning to Mountain Home, it will be tough leaving the place where he grew up.

Godwin says his first official day on his contract is July 1, but he plans to meet with his players this coming week. Next month, they have some team camps planned.

Godwin succeeds Cody Wilmath, who has been hired as the assistant boys’ coach at North Little Rock High School.
