
After being part of a three-way tie for the lead on Thursday, Zachary Knight was able to stay at the top on Friday and win the Chuck Morton Junior Memorial Championship at Big Creek Golf and Country Club. Knight won the boys’ 16-to-18 age group with a two-day total of three-under-par 141.
Jacob Knowlton finished second in the division after ending up two strokes behind Knight. Jacob Peetoom was third with an even-par 144.
The 14-and-15 boys’ division was won by Adam Squires with a total of 153. Terrance Kempson was three strokes behind to take second place, and Sam Patterson was third with a 157.
Garrison Whitworth won the boys’ 12-and-13 age group with a 156. Cody Cormican finished second with a 163, and Jeanlutz Yang ended up third with a 170.
Landon Nichols took the 10-and-11 boys’ division with a two-day total of 69. Dawson Smith was second with an 83, and Bryant Edens finished third with a 117.
Maggie Huett was the top golfer on the girls’ side. Huett won the 16-to-18 age group with a two-day total of 148.
Two golfers in the division ended up one stroke back. Caroline Hughes took the tiebreaker over Isabel Chaidez.
Isabella Curtis had a two-day total of 169 to win the 12-and-13 girls’ division. Abby Edens was second with a 196.
