The All-Arkansas Preps football team was released in Monday’s issue of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and three area athletes are on the list.
Mountain Home junior defensive lineman Robert Dover was one of two on the defensive first team. Dover finished the season with 114 tackles, including 24 for loss and 14 sacks.
The first team defense also included Melbourne senior defensive back Carter Bray, who had 75 tackles and four sacks. Bray was also a two-way star for the Bearkatz with 1,939 all-purpose yards.
Melbourne was also represented by sophomore kicker Fernando Ventura on the All-Arkansas Preps underclassmen team. Ventura was perfect on all 11 of his field goal attempts this season.
Members of the team were nominated by their coaches and selected by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s sports staff with assistance from the state’s high school coaches.
