Tuesday basketball schedule includes MHHS at Russellville

High school basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule as Mountain Home wraps up its current run of three straight road trips. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be in the Arkansas River Valley for another matchup with Russellville.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 15-11 on the season and 6-4 in the 5A-West after beating Van Buren on Friday. Russellville topped Alma to improve to 20-6 and 7-3. The Lady Bombers fell to the Lady Cyclones 51-24 on Jan. 17.
The Mountain Home boys are 13-13 overall and 4-6 in the league after losing at Van Buren four nights ago. Russellville is 18-7 and 6-4 as they come off a win over Alma. The Bombers fell to the Cyclones 49-44 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:45 at Cyclone Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison hosts Greenbrier, Siloam Springs travels to Greenwood, and Alma entertains Van Buren.

Four area teams will play their openers in the 2A-1 District Tournament at Eureka Springs. On the girls’ side, Ozark Mountain and Greenland tip off at 4, and Cotter faces the host Lady Highlanders at 7. On the boys’ bracket, Cotter takes on Haas Hall-Bentonville at 5:30, and Yellville-Summit plays Eureka Springs at 8:30.

Both of Flippin’s teams will be in West Fork for their first games in the 3A-1 District Tournament. The Lady Bobcats will be paired with the winner of Monday’s game between Lincoln and West Fork, and the Flippin boys face Elkins at 8:30.

The 1A-2 District Tournament will continue at Viola. The girls’ game between Shirley and Concord gets underway at 4, Calico Rock takes on Shirley for a doubleheader starting with the boys at 5:15, and Viola’s boys play Concord at 7:45.

Two area girls’ teams will square off on the second night of the 2A-2 District Tournament at White County Central High School in Providence. Izard County and Marshall are scheduled for 6:30.

Two area teams will be in Cave City for their openers in the 3A-2 District Tournament. Mountain View’s girls will be matched up with Newport at 7, and the Melbourne boys face Walnut Ridge at 8:30.

The 1A-1 East District Tournament resumes at Mount Judea. On the boys’ side, Omaha takes on the winner of Monday’s game between Deer and Oark at 5:15, and Lead Hill plays Alpena at 7:45. The girls’ game between Lead Hill and Omaha is set for 6:30.

Elsewhere, Bakersfield’s boys host Winona, the Bakersfield girls travel to Dora, and Gainesville’s boys entertain Hartville.
