Bakersfield girls advance in district play; season ends for Gainesville, Dora

Three area high school girls’ basketball teams began action in the Class 2, District 10 Tournament Tuesday at Cabool.

Bakersfield was able to advance to the semifinals after defeating the host Lady Bulldogs 53-46. The Lady Lions improve to 13-9 on the season.

Bakersfield next opponent on Thursday will be Hartville. Gainesville was eliminated by the Lady Eagles 49-24. The Lady Bulldogs’ season ends at 4-20.

Dora was one and done after falling to Plato by a final of 50-34. The Lady Falcons’ final record is 11-12.
