For many paddlers, Kyles Landing is a popular river access point in the spring along the Buffalo National River. With parking becoming unsafe on busy days, officials have implemented a plan to place “No Parking” signs along Kyles Landing Road which began Wednesday.According to the Buffalo National River’s Facebook page, parking will no longer be permitted on the road to allow space for emergency vehicles to safely enter the park.Officials have offer several alternatives for a safe and enjoyable visit to the park:
– Plan a paddling trip for a weekday instead of a Saturday or Sunday;
– Get an early morning start on a weekend river trip or start later in the afternoon to avoid crowded access points;
– Carpool with others; and
– Avoid towing a trailer into the park to allow for more parking spaces at busy river access points. If possible, utilize a roof rack or pickup bed to transport boats.
