A Stone County man has been arrested after he allegedly rammed a vehicle with his truck multiple times and threatened to kill the occupants. Fifty-two-year-old Ronald Kevin Oates of Mountain View is facing several charges, including four felonies, in connection with the incident.

According to the probable cause statement in the case released Thursday, the incident happened Feb. 13. The adult victim called 911 to report someone was ramming his SUV with a truck. When law enforcement arrived, they found the vehicle in the roadway with significant damage.

A juvenile in the vehicle told authorities as they were driving, Oates was in the middle of road, cursing at them causing them to stop. Oates allegedly threatened to kill both people in the car, including saying “Get your kid out, I’m going to blow his head off.” Oates also allegedly threw a large rock at the passenger side window where the juvenile was seated.

As the victims started to drive away, Oates got in his truck, chased them and allegedly rammed their vehicle six or seven times.

Two witnesses corroborated the allegation, saying they saw Oates’ truck hit the victim’s vehicle several times, including so hard it turned it sideways in the roadway.

Oates is facing felony charges of aggravated assault, battery in the second degree, terroristic threatening and criminal mischief along with a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Oates is being held in the Stone County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
