A Flippin man has been arrested for stealing his mother’s car and cell phone. Twenty-five-year-old Johnathan Lee Ross is facing multiple charges from the Sunday night incident.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were advised by the victim that her son had stolen the car keys from his aunt’s house and then took the car and her phone. While one deputy was gathering information at the scene, another deputy spotted the stolen car on State Highway 201 north and made a traffic stop.

Both deputies then tried to speak with Ross who was still inside the car. After multiple requests to get out of the car, which Ross refused, deputies assisted him from the vehicle and he was taken into custody. The stolen cell phone was in a pocket of his pants.

Ross is facing felony charges of residential burglary and theft of property along with misdemeanor charges of theft of property, obstructing governmental operations and driving while his license is suspended or revoked for DWI. His bond is set at $15,000.
