A Mountain Home man is facing multiple charges after fleeing from deputies after an attempted traffic stop.
According to the probable cause affidavit, while on patrol a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a motorcycle passing a vehicle over the double yellow line, almost causing a collision.
While attempting to make a traffic stop, the driver of the motorcycle, identified as 21-year-old Brian Joseph Studnar-Griesi, accelerated to a high rate of speed and passed three additional cars while heading southbound on AR Hwy. 201. At one point, the deputy stated he reached a speed of 102 miles per hour in attempt to reach Studnar-Griesi.
During the pursuit, Studnar-Griesi continued to drive at a high rate of speeds, passing vehicles in non passing zones and causing other motorists to maneuver to avoid wrecking. Once they reached Pigeon Creek Bridge, Studnar-Griesi quickly pulled to the side of the highway, jumped off his motorcycle, raised his shirt and began yelling at the deputy. He was arrested without incident.
While completing an inventory search, the deputy found a large propane torch, a blue and orange silicone type pipe, a multicolor container with a wax type substance, believed to be THC. The license plates came back to a different motorcycle and not to the one it was displayed on.
Studnar-Griesi was booked to the Baxter County Detention Center on a felony count of fleeing, misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, along with reckless driving, five counts of improper passing, fictitious vehicle tags and no proof of insurance. He has been released on $10,000 bond.
