The Ava High School softball team was able to punch its ticket to Springfield on Wednesday. The Lady Bears went on the road for its quarterfinal game in the Class 2 State Tournament and beat Houston 7-2. Ava is now 19-6 on the year, and they’ll meet West County in Monday’s semifinals at the Killian Softball Complex.
