Entergy works to restore power; hail storm causes damage in Mountain View

Following Sunday’s storms, Entergy Arkansas continues its work to get powered restored to area residents. As of 5:30 Wednesday morning, nine customers in Izard County and one in Stone County were still without power.

Customer Service Manager Zach Hale said Tuesday crews have made a lot of progress in their restoration efforts.

Entergy personnel has been assisted by outside contractors to get power back online. Hale says the time of restoration for some residents may depend on their location.

The storm caused to damage to numerous structures and vehicles in the city of Mountain View. Police Chief George Bethell says some hail stones were as big as 5 1/2 inches in diameter, larger than a grapefruit, resulting in the shattering of skylights at Walmart. Other roofs were damaged and car windshields were broken from the storm. Chief Bethell states no injuries were reported.
