
All three months of this year’s second quarter ended up with below-average rainfall, but the Twin Lakes Area remains above average for the first half of the year. In addition, June ended up being the second straight month in which no records were broken or tied.
At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home, a total of 1.76 inches of precipitation was recorded during the previous month. That is 2.12 inches below June’s average rainfall of 3.88 inches.
For the first six months of 2023, the total precipitation recorded was 27.19 inches. That is .44 of an inch above the period’s average rainfall of 26.75 inches.
June had one day of triple digit heat. The high recorded on June 30 was 100 degrees. The coolest temperature was 57 on June 7, 13 and 14. The average high for June was 85.9 degrees, and the average low was 63.5.
